Já o Zeca, por outro lado, mira consolidação no G-8, vindo embalado por ter batido o Confiança, ficando na 7ª colocação e totalizando 23 pontos ganhos.

Apesar da sequência positiva na competição, o Botafogo ainda não tem sua escalação confirmada. Certeza mesmo é que não poderá contar com a presença do volante Netinho, que recebeu o terceiro cartão amarelo da série e terá de cumprir a suspensão automática, devendo ser substituído por Djavan.
Os paraibanos, porém, possuem duas dúvidas para confirmar os 11 iniciais. Ricardo Luz e Mateus Anderson, que tiveram atuação abaixo das expectivas contra os amazonenses no último jogo, podem ser sacados da equipe, com Lucas Mendes e Marco Antônio figurando como os respectivos substitutos.

Tendência de retorno é apenas na próxima fase, caso o Zequinha consiga garantir classificação.
Em relação ao último jogo, contudo, são duas ausências. O lateral-direito Thalys e o atacante Alessandro Vinícius receberam o terceiro amarelo da série e, com isso, estão suspensos; Lissandro e Lucas Santiago figuram como potenciais e respectivos substitutos, mantendo assim o sistema tático formado por três zagueiros.
Durante a semana, o Zeca se preparou realizando jogo-treino frente ao Grêmio. O técnico Thiago Gomes reconheceu a força do adversário e destacou o quanto a atividade foi importante na preparação: “Foi um treino muito bom, em grama natural e contra o Grêmio, que tem muita qualidade e exigiu muito da nossa organização defensiva. Era isso o que buscávamos durante essa preparação para enfrentar o Botafogo-PB”, analisou Thiago.
