Campinas, SP, 03 (AFI) – A Série D do Campeonato Brasileiro confirmou os dois primeiros classificados à Série C, assim como duas novas vagas para a competição da próxima temporada. Com os acessos de Athletic e Caxias, neste sábado (02), as vagas na Quarta Divisão de 2024 ficaram Ipatinga e Avenida, que já disputaram o torneio outrora.
MINEIROS VOLTAM APÓS 10 ANOS
Tradicional nos anos 2000, quando chegou à semifinal da Copa do Brasil em 2006 e disputou a elite nacional em 2008, o Tigre do Vale do Aço volta à Série D após 10 anos. Campeão mineiro em 2005, o Quadricolor terminou o Estadual deste ano na 9ª colocação e precisava torcer pela promoção do time de São João del-Rei ou do Democrata-GV.
Como o Esquadrão de Aço fez o seu papel, os ipatinguenses voltaram a figurar em nível nacional. De 2011 para cá, quando disputaram a Série D pela última — e única — vez, entraram em forte crise e tiveram de enfrentar problemas financeiros, queda nos tribunais e até mudança temporária de sede para Betim, em 2013; o ressurgimento no Mineiro marcaram a transformação do clube em Sociedade Anônima de Futebol (SAF).
GAÚCHOS DISPUTARÃO PELA SEGUNDA VEZ
Mesmo com 79 anos de fundação, o Nida participará do certame somente pela segunda vez na história. Antes, disputou em 2019, quando fechou na liderança do Grupo 17 e caiu na segunda fase, sendo eliminado justamente pelo Grená, que agora o auxiliou a garantir retorno à disputa de uma Série D; temporada em questão marcou estreias em competições nacionais, pois teve a Copa do Brasil também.
O Periquito também encerrou na 9ª posição do Gauchão, herdando a vaga do clube da Serra. Em entrevista à Rádio Gazeta de Santa Cruz do Sul, o presidente alviverde Jair Erch espera ver o apoio de toda a cidade na Série D de 2024: “Serão jogos interessantes, que todos estejamos juntos, buscando montar um grande elenco e fazer bonito. Era uma necessidade avançar para que a gente pudesse competir em nível nacional. Não só o torcedor, mas toda a cidade vai sair ganhando”, afirmou o mandatário.
