Campinas, SP, 15 – A Federação Internacional de História e Estatísticas do Futebol (IFFHS) divulgou uma nova lista com os melhores times do mundo e, dessa vez, três clubes brasileiros ficaram entre as dez melhores equipes de futebol do planeta: Palmeiras, Fluminense e Fortaleza.
O time alviverde é o clube nacional mais bem posicionado no ranking da IFFHS, na quinta colocação, com 212 pontos. Logo atrás dele vem o Fortaleza, vice-campeão da Copa Sul-Americana, em sexto, com 211,5 pontos. Já a equipe carioca, atual campeã da Libertadores, ficou em décimo, com 199 pontos.
A IFFHS divulga listas como essa de maneira mensal e atribui pontos às equipes de acordo com o desempenho delas no período e nos troféus conquistados. O Fluminense, por exemplo, voltou a aparecer no Top 10 mundial graças ao título continental.
Palmeiras, Fortaleza e Fluminense, além de serem as únicas equipes brasileiras no ranking atual, também são os únicos clubes sul-americanos a aparecer na lista. Há ainda outros seis clubes europeus e um africano, o Al-Ahly, do Egito, atual vencedor da Liga dos Campeões da África.
O melhor time do mundo, de acordo com a IFFHS, é o Manchester City, atual campeão da Liga dos Campeões da Europa e líder da atual edição do Campeonato Inglês
