Ribeirão Preto, SP , 11 (AFI) – O Botafogo acertou a contratação de mais um atacante para a próxima temporada. O novo reforço é o atacante Leandro Pereira, de 32 anos, que estava no futebol japonês e já teve passagens pelo Palmeiras.
Com títulos da Copa do Brasil e da Série A do Brasileiro no currículo, o jogador assinou contrato com o Tricolor até o final de 2024.
Leandro Pereira ganhou projeção em 2014, quando se destacou com a camisa da Chapecoense. Na época, marcou dez gols e deu quatro assistências pela equipe catarinense em 24 jogos no Brasileirão.
Na sequência, o atacante foi contratado pelo Palmeiras, onde teve duas passagens. Na primeira, em 2015, fez nove gols em 28 jogos, enquanto na segunda temporada foram dois gols em 11 partidas.
Entre as passagens pelo time alviverde, o jogador vestiu a camisa do Club Brugge, onde faturou mais um título ao sagrar-se campeão da Liga Belga.
Logo depois, vestiu a camisa do Sport e sagrou-se campeão do Campeonato Pernambucano. Em 2018, se transferiu novamente para a Chapecoense, onde fez 11 gols em 34 jogos, sendo o quinto maior goleador da Série A do Brasileiro.
No ano seguinte, o destino do jogador foi o Japão, onde atuou no Matsmoto Yamaga, Sanfrecce Hiroshima e Gamba Osaka. Neste período, marcou 35 gols. Já nesta última temporada, atuou pelo Persepolis, do Irã, e Tochigi, do Japão.
Com a contratação de Leandro Pereira, o Botafogo já tem cinco reforços anunciados para a próxima temporada. Os outros são os goleiros João Carlos e Michael Fracaro, além dos também atacantes Douglas Baggio e Emerson Neguega.
