Richarlison diz que adiou cirurgia para não perder espaço na seleção brasileira

São Paulo, sP, 10 – Um mês após ser submetido a uma cirurgia no púbis, Richarlison voltou a ser titular do Tottenham neste domingo. E não decepcionou a torcida do clube londrino. O atacante brasileiro marcou dois gols na goleada de 4 a 1 sobre o Newcastle, em rodada do Campeonato Inglês. Ao fim da partida, ele revelou que havia adiado a cirurgia para não perder espaço na seleção brasileira.

“Eu venho sofrendo desde a temporada passada. Eu vinha tratando, mas não estava dando jeito, levei várias injeções no local, fiz vários procedimentos e não resolveu. Claro que a cirurgia era o último plano. Como não deu jeito, decidi fazer a cirurgia e também não fiz antes porque estava pensando no clube, na seleção”, disse o atacante, em entrevista ao canal ESPN.

Sem passar pela cirurgia na temporada passada, o atacante foi convocado pela seleção brasileira e disputou a Copa do Mundo do Catar, entre novembro e dezembro do ano passado. Foi, inclusive, premiado pelo gol mais bonito do Mundial.

“Não queria abrir mão disso, não queria largar a seleção, não queria deixar de estar ajudando meus companheiros. Eu fui também um pouco egoísta, vi que chegou uma hora que estava me atrapalhando, que tinha uma hora que tinha que parar. Fiz a escolha certa em fazer a cirurgia. Então, hoje voltei bem. Agora é continuar e dar sequência”, afirmou.

Richarlison foi submetido a cirurgia no dia 9 de novembro para corrigir um problema no púbis. Ele voltou a campo no dia 3 deste mês, ao entrar em campo nos minutos finais do empate entre o Tottenham e o Manchester City por 3 a 3. Também foi reserva contra o West Ham, na rodada seguinte. E, neste domingo, enfim voltou ao time titular, marcando gols que encerraram um jejum de dois meses.

“Estou bem melhor do que antes. Agora me sinto confiante, me sinto 100%. Acho que essa cirurgia me ajudou muito a me recuperar nos treinamentos. Agora estou treinando sem dor, e isso vem me ajudando muito. É evoluir a cada dia agora e pensar no próximo jogo. Acho que a gente vinha em uma sequência de derrotas, agora já teve uma melhora. É focar no próximo jogo e continuar evoluindo”, afirmou o atacante.
