Campinas, SP, 24 (AFI) – Em disputa inédita na história do clube, o Amazonas FC estreou no Campeonato Brasileiro da Série C perdendo para o Brusque-SC no Augusto Bauer, em Brusque, Santa Catarina, e enfrentando o mesmo rival, no mesmo estádio, se despediu do torneio no segundo jogo da grande final, quando desta vez venceu e se sagrou o grande campeão na edição de 2023.
Ainda nesta temporada, o torneio reservou muita emoção durante as três fases, incluindo reviravoltas de sucesso, como a do Paysandu-PA, que deixou uma situação constrangedora na primeira fase para conquistar o acesso, similar ao que fez o Volta Redonda-RJ, mas que neste caso acabou ficando para trás de última hora no quadrangular e não subiu de divisão.
Junto a Amazonas-AM, Brusque-SC e Paysandu-PA, o quarto time a conquistar o acesso na Série C do Brasileirão foi o Operário-PR, que na segunda fase teve que fazer contas e passar por muito sofrimento até conseguir um feito histórico de subir para a Série B somando apenas sete pontos em seis rodadas jogadas.
RETA FINAL DA 1ª FASE DISPUTADÍSSIMA!
Já a narrativa do São Bernardo, único representante paulista na competição, vindo de uma grande campanha nos torneios estaduais, começou de modo ideal, vencendo cinco dos primeiros seis jogos, mas que na sequência puxou um jejum de dez partidas que colocou em cheque a classificação para a segunda fase, concretizada graças a duas vitórias e um empate na última rodada, contra o Náutico-PE, tirando o adversário pernambucano da sequência da competição graças a um gol anulado nos acréscimos.
Enquanto a disputa para seguir na competição após as 19 rodadas iniciais foi incessante, a briga contra a degola manteve o mesmo ritmo, apenas com Pouso Alegre-MG e Altos-PI chegando no último jogo já rebaixados. Em confrontos diretos, o Floresta-CE venceu o América-RN, se salvou, e ainda rebaixou o adversário potiguar, enquanto o empate também livrou o Figueirense-SC, rebaixando o Manaus-AM em outro duelo que um golzinho poderia mudar a perspectiva para a temporada seguinte.
QUADRANGULAR
Dada a largada na segunda etapa, o Brusque-SC mais uma vez mostrou consistência e disparou, garantindo seu acesso e vaga na final do campeonato com 100% de aproveitamento em quatro partidas, mais tarde igualando a melhor campanha da história do quadrangular, com 13 pontos. Ainda no Grupo B, Operário-PR, São Bernardo-SP e São José-RS seguiram disputando a segunda vaga, e depois de muitas idas e vindas, terminou nas mãos do clube paranaense.
No Grupo C, o Botafogo-PB estreou vencendo, mas embalou cinco derrotas na sequência e terminou com a pior campanha entre os oito, enquanto o Paysandu somou dez pontos nas primeiras quatro partidas e precisava de apenas mais um pelo acesso, chegando a lotar o Mangueirão em dois confrontos com 50 mil torcedores, mas o acesso veio apenas na última rodada, com derrota, mas a frente do Volta Redonda-RJ no saldo de gols.
O Amazonas iniciou passando aperto, com duas derrotas, e a probabilidade lá em cima de ser eliminado a qualquer momento. Com a chegada de Luizinho Vieira para o comando técnico a história foi outra, onde quatro vitórias consecutivas decretaram o acesso inédito e a melhor campanha no grupo, garantindo vaga na decisão.
GRANDE FINAL
Novamente cara a cara, Brusque-SC e Amazonas-AM chegaram à final com dedicação, mérito e destaque, reeditando o duelo que abriu o campeonato para os dois, e que naquela ocasião havia dado três pontos aos catarinenses, com vitória por 1 a 0 no detalhe, em gol a partir de cobrança de falta.
No entanto, o placar do primeiro embate não tinha mais valia àquela altura, e os dois rivais foram para um duelo dramático na Arena da Amazônia, em Manaus, que esquentou ainda mais o clima depois de um resultado zerado no Norte do país.
Mudando as coordenadas para o extremo Sul brasileiro, o duelo na cidade de Brusque, Santa Catarina, começou com Guilherme Queiróz abrindo o placar de pênalti logo no início, antes do argentino Diego Torres empatar na reta final da primeira etapa. Já no segundo tempo, Sassá marcou o mais importante entre os seus 18 gols no campeonato, o que decretou o título de Campeonato Brasileiro inédito ao Amazonas-AM, antes mesmo do clube completar cinco anos de história.
