Paulo Turra elogia Soteldo e diz que não foi o responsável por seu afastamento no Santos

Campinas, SP, 25 – Paulo Turra não teve um ano de 2023 para se comemorar, com dispensas relâmpagos no Santos e no Vitória de Guimarães em Portugal. O treinador deu algumas explicações em entrevista neste domingo, na qual fez questão de elogiar Soteldo, agora reforço do Grêmio, garantindo que não teve relação com o afastamento do venezuelano.

Assim que assumiu o Santos, Turra afastou alguns jovens que foram flagrados em balada. Logo depois, Soteldo acabou encostado por “indisciplina”, com o treinador apontado como o responsável. De férias nem Porto Alegre, o treinador esclareceu ma situação.

“Não fui eu quem afastou o Soteldo. Quando cheguei, o clube queria afastá-lo por uma série de indisciplinas”, explicou, em entrevista à rádio Grenal. Ainda elogiou o meia-atacante, que defenderá o Grêmio em 2024. “O Soteldo, no seu melhor, é um grande reforço.”

Demitido do Santos após somente seis pontos em sete jogos, Paulo Turra não se vê responsável pela queda à Série B. Na verdade, ainda defendeu seus substitutos, Diego Aguirre e depois Marcelo Fernandes. “A queda do Santos foi um processo, não aconteceu neste ano.”

Após deixar o Santos, Turra foi se aventurar no Vitória de Guimarães, mas também caiu rápido, após duas vitórias, um empate e três derrotas. Ele explicou o motivo, deixando claro que não foi por causa do desempenho, já que saiu após virada quando perdia de 2 a 0 e buscou o 3 a 2 sobre o Estoril.

“Tive problemas com as minhas licenças em Portugal. Este foi um dos motivos do meu desligamento”, disse, revelando que os portugueses foram obrigados a trocar de comando por ele não contar com a licença Pro da Uefa de técnico.
