Campinas, SP, 20 (AFI) – O Bahia apresentou neste sábado o meia Caio Alexandre, a contratação mais cara do futebol do Nordeste. O clube precisou superar a concorrência de Palmeiras e Corinthians para convencer o atleta a deixar o Fortaleza. Em seu primeiro contato com a imprensa, ele admitiu ter recebido propostas, mas aceitou o convite por considerar o projeto “gigantesco”.
“Tive, sim, outras propostas. Fico feliz, muito agradecido pelo interesse dos outros times. Mas eu escolhi estar aqui no Bahia desde que fiz o primeiro contato com o diretor de futebol Cadu Santoro e com o técnico Rogério Ceni. Eles me passaram muita confiança no projeto, que é gigantesco, faz brilhar os olhos de qualquer jogador. Temos uma estrutura fantástica trabalhando na Inglaterra, temos nosso centro de treinamento em Salvador, com muita qualidade. Isso dá tranquilidade pra escolher vir para cá. Quero crescer junto com o Bahia”, disse o meia.
Com o aporte do Grupo City, o Bahia acertou com os zagueiros David Duarte e Victor Cuesta, o lateral Iago Borduchi, além do volante Jean Lucas e do meia Éverton Ribeiro, um dos principais reforços do clube na temporada.
“A equipe contratou jogadores de alta qualidade, juntamente com os que já estavam aqui. Nosso torcedor pode esperar muito empenho e qualidade durante o ano. O projeto que o Bahia apresentou me agradou muito. Deixou minha família muito contente. Sabemos como o torcedor do Bahia é apaixonado. Joguei contra, é difícil. Agora estou do lado. O tamanho do projeto junto com o Grupo City me deixou feliz por esse novo desafio. Eu precisava crescer juntamente com o Bahia, fazer grandes jogos no cenário brasileiro”, afirmou.
Ainda sem contar com o grupo principal, o Bahia, que perdeu na estreia do Campeonato Baiano para o Jequié, por 1 a 0, volta a campo neste domingo, às 16h, diante do Atlético Alagoinhas, no estádio Carneirão, pela segunda rodada.
