Assim como nas duas temporadas anteriores, o Leão da Caneleira será comandado pelo técnico Adriano Piemonte. “Apesar das limitações financeiras, conseguimos montar um elenco qualificado, mesclando jogadores experientes, como o meia Diego Palhinha e os atacantes Rodriguinho, ex-Fluminense, e Anderson Chub, ex-Santos, com atletas jovens, muitos deles aqui mesmo da região. As chuvas desta semana praticamente impediram que a gente fizesse treinos táticos, mas mesmo assim estou confiante em um resultado positivo diante do Barretos”, declarou o treinador.

Um dos principais nomes do elenco rubro-amarelo é Diego Palhinha. O experiente meio-campista de 38 anos de idade conta em sua extensa carreira com nada menos que nove promoções de divisão, duas delas com a Portuguesa Santista, para a Série A-3 em 2016 e para a A-2, dois anos depois.
“O Jabaquara é um clube querido por todos e para mim é uma honra vestir essa camisa centenária. A Série A-4 é um campeonato muito difícil, com clubes tradicionais e com poderio econômico, mas nosso grupo está focado e comprometido em fazer uma grande campanha. E, quem sabe, eu possa chegar ao décimo acesso em minha carreira”, declarou o camisa 10 e capitão do Leão da Caneleira.
