Florianópolis, SC, 17 (AFI) – Foi com profundo pesar, que a Federação Catarinense de Futebol (FCF) informou o falecimento de seu vice-presidente e diretor do Departamento de Arbitragem, Marco Antônio Martins, aos 57 anos.
Profissional experiente, principalmente como árbitro assistente, Marco Antônio encerrou a sua carreira nos campos em 2011 depois de atuar por 15 anos no quadro da FCF e por 10 anos no quadro da CBF.
Marco Antônio Martins foi também presidente do Sindicato dos Árbitros de Futebol do Estado de Santa Catarina (Sinafesc) e da Associação Nacional dos Árbitros de Futebol (ANAF).
Na FCF, assumiu a função de diretor do Departamento de Arbitragem em junho de 2017, cargo que exercia até hoje. Foi eleito vice-presidente da entidade em 2018 e em 2022.
O presidente da FCF, Rubens Angelotti, consternado com o falecimento de Marco Antônio Martins, destacou a importância dele na arbitragem catarinense.
“Estou muito triste com o falecimento do Marco Antônio Martins. Além de uma grande pessoa, foi um profissional de alto nível. Estava fazendo um trabalho brilhante na nossa arbitragem, com organização e evolução constante”, finalizou Rubens Angelotti.
Vítima de um infarto, Marco Antônio deixa esposa e duas filhas.
