Campinas, SP, 18, (AFI) – A seleção uruguaia não conta mais com o lateral-esquerdo Piquerez, do Palmeiras, para os dois amistosos da Data Fifa da próxima semana. O uruguaio perdeu o voo que o levaria ao encontro da delegação após uma mudança na programação da Associação Uruguaia de Futebol (AUF). A equipe uruguaia está na Espanha, onde enfrenta a seleção do País Basco, no sábado.
Conforme apurou o Estadão, a AUF informou inicialmente que o voo do atleta para a Europa seria nesta segunda-feira, às 15h. O Palmeiras enfrentou a Ponte Preta no sábado, pelas quartas de final do Campeonato Paulista. Piquerez jogou e foi responsável por um gol e uma assistência na vitória por 5 a 1.
Na manhã de domingo, contudo, o Palmeiras foi comunicado sobre uma nova programação. Piquerez teria que partir no próprio domingo, às 15h. O clube ofereceu à AUF uma nova passagem para evitar o embarque imediato e às pressas. Porém, a comissão técnica da seleção uruguaia, comandada por Marcelo Bielsa, optou pela desconvocação.
Parte da delegação uruguaia já estava concentrada e começou os trabalhos no centro de treinamentos do Amorebieta, na cidade de Amorebieta-Etxano, na região do País Basco, na Espanha.
Os flamenguistas, Varela, Viña, Arrascaeta e De La Cruz chegaram na manhã desta segunda-feira para juntar-se à equipe. O amistoso entre Uruguai e País Basco é no próximo sábado, no Estádio San Mamés, em Bilbao. Depois, a seleção uruguaia viaja até Lens, na França, onde enfrenta a Costa do Marfim no Estádio Félix-Bollaert. Assim como a seleção brasileira, os uruguaios tratam os amistosos desta Data Fifa como preparação para a Copa América, disputada em julho, nos Estados Unidos.
