O desenho da Copa do Brasil 2023 começou a ser formado na tarde desta quarta-feira, com o sorteio na sede da CBF que definiu os confrontos da primeira fase. Os jogos estão previstos para ocorrer entre 22 de fevereiro e 1º de março, mas as datas exatas ainda serão confirmadas pela confederação.

Ao todo são 20 chaves com quatro times. Os dois vencedores de cada chave irão se enfrentar na segunda fase.

As duas primeiras etapas da Copa do Brasil são disputadas em partidas únicas. Nesta primeira, que começa em 22 de fevereiro, os times de melhores posições no ranking nacional de clubes jogam pelo empate, mas na condição de visitantes. Já a partir da segunda fase, em caso de igualdade no placar, a definição dos classificados será nos pênaltis.

Além dessas 80 que entrarão no sorteio desta quarta, 12 equipes já estão pré-classificadas para a terceira fase. São elas: Atlético-MG, Fortaleza, Flamengo, Palmeiras, Athletico-PR, Internacional, Corinthians e Fluminense, que virão da Libertadores, além de São Paulo, classificado via Brasileirão, Cruzeiro, campeão da Série B, Sport, vice-campeão da Copa do Nordeste, e Paysandu, campeão da Copa Verde

Confrontos definidos por potes

No sorteio da primeira fase, os 80 clubes foram separados em oito potes com dez equipes cada um, de acordo com o posicionamento no ranking da CBF.
Os 10 melhores ranqueados fizeram parte do Pote A; os 10 seguintes, do Pote B; os próximos 10, do Pote C; e assim sucessivamente, até se formar o Pote H.

Os jogos na primeira fase ocorrerão entre os times do pote A x E, pote B x F, pote C x G e pote D x H. Da mesma forma também serão sorteados os chaveamentos visando os confrontos da segunda fase, com cada partida equivalendo a um grupo.

Premiação

Este ano a Copa do Brasil terá uma premiação recorde, com aumento no valor das cotas em todas as fases. O que significa um valor total de R$ 420 milhões distribuídos ao longo da competição.

Nas duas primeiras fases, há uma divisão dos 80 times em três grupos, com valores diferentes de premiação, levando em consideração a distribuição das equipes nas quatro séries do Campeonato Brasileiro.

Assim, os times da Série A iniciam a competição com uma cota de R$ 1,4 milhão. Caso se classifiquem para a segunda fase, receberão mais R$ 1,7 milhão.

Em um segundo grupo estão 16 clubes da Série B, que largam com R$ 1,25 milhão, e em caso de permanência receberão mais R$ 1,4 milhão na segunda fase.

Por fim, o terceiro grupo é composto por 54 equipes, distribuídas nas Séries C, D e os que estão sem divisão nacional. Pela primeira fase, cada um receberá R$ 750 mil, e em caso de avanço embolsarão mais R$ 900 mil.

A partir da terceira fase, quando entram os 12 clubes pré-classificados, o valor das cotas se torna único (R$ 2,1 milhões).

Grupo 2 – Clubes da Série B: ABC, Atlético-GO, Avaí, Botafogo-SP, Ceará, Chapecoense, CRB, Criciúma, Ituano, Juventude, Londrina, Ponte Preta, Sampaio Corrêa, Tombense, Vila Nova e Vitória
