A partida fecha a terceira rodada do Grupo 16 da terceira fase do Campeonato Paulista Sub-23 Segunda Divisão, popular Segundona ou Bezinha, a quarta divisão do estadual.
Na rodada passada, as duas equipes jogaram fora de casa. A Veterana venceu o CAT por 2 a 1, em Taquaritinga, enquanto que o Alvinegro limeirense perdeu para o Ska Brasil por 1 a 0, em Santana do Parnaíba.
A Veterana aparece na liderança do Grupo 16, com seis pontos ganhos, mesma pontuação do vice-líder Taquaritinga. O Ska Brasil é o terceiro, com três pontos. Já o Independente está zerado e segura a lanterna da chave.
RETROSPECTO E TABU
Rivais desde 1975, Francana e Independente de Limeira se enfrentaram oficialmente 25 vezes. O retrospecto é bastante equilibrado, com dez vitórias da Vetenana, nove do Alvinegro e seis empates; 22 gols da Alviverde de Franca e 18 gols do Galo da Vila Esteves.
