São Paulo, SP , 26 (AFI) – O técnico António Oliveira lamentou neste domingo sua primeira derrota à frente do Corinthians. Mas não se deixou desanimar, apesar do revés por 1 a 0 diante da modesta equipe da Ponte Preta na Neo Química Arena, em São Paulo. O treinador português tratou de valorizar a “entrega” dos seus jogadores em campo.
“Como já disse que alguns tempos atrás falava-se em outro tipo de situação, agora estamos a falar de classificação. Estamos indo contra o relógio, contra o tempo, mas o que disse e sempre digo é que jamais desistiremos e, no fim, vamos fazer as contas”, comentou o técnico, em referência à ameaça de rebaixamento que o time vivia quando chegou ao clube.
O revés complicou as chances de classificação do Corinthians para o mata-mata do Paulistão. Um empate teria minimizado a situação, mas o time da casa enfrentou muitas dificuldades no ataque, principalmente na pontaria.
“Há dias que podemos dizer que poderíamos ficar aqui o dia todo que dificilmente iríamos marcar. A análise que se faz é sobre o saldo de gols, entre sofridos e marcados. Logo, o adversário foi melhor que nós. Dei os parabéns aos meus jogadores, não pelo resultado, mas pela entrega. Eu pedi a eles que se entregassem de corpo e alma a esta causa.”
António Oliveira atribuiu a derrota em parte ao desgaste físico do seu elenco. “Fizeram de tudo em campo, mas há uma coisa, que é esta sequência de jogos, que tem sido dura para nós. O nosso adversário não competiu durante a semana. É evidente que em alguns momentos nós percebemos que alguns jogadores já estavam desgastados.”
Na sua avaliação, as frequentes falhas no ataque podem ter sido consequência do cansaço. “Isso se reflete, principalmente, em tomadas de decisões em campo. Em alguns momentos tivemos pouco discernimento. Mais uma vez digo que estou orgulhoso dos meus jogadores, que se entregaram em campo.”
