O Famalicão caiu no chão na Primeira Liga ao sofrer uma derrota por 1 a 0 para o Portimonense quando os times se enfrentaram no último domingo.

O brasileiro Pedrão acertou em cheio no Estádio Municipal de Portimão ao encontrar o fundo das redes cinco minutos depois da hora de jogo, dando aos anfitriões a quarta vitória consecutiva.

Antes disso, o Famalicão não conseguiu vencer nenhum dos três primeiros jogos da temporada, conquistando um ponto dos nove primeiros disponíveis antes de vencer o Santa Clara por 1 a 0 em casa em 28 de agosto.

Com quatro pontos em cinco jogos, os homens de Rui Silva estão atualmente em 16º na classificação da Primeira Liga, apenas acima de Pacos de Ferreira e Maritimo, que perderam cada um dos cinco jogos nesta temporada.

O próximo passo para o Famalicão é o grande desafio de defrontar um Benfica que está invicto nos últimos oito encontros entre as duas equipas, com cinco vitórias e três empates desde dezembro de 2019.

 

A equipe de Schmidt começou sua busca pela glória europeia em grande estilo, com uma vitória confortável por 2 x 0 sobre o time israelense Maccabi Haifa na abertura do Grupo H da Liga dos Campeões na terça-feira.

Num emocionante jogo no Estádio do Sport Lisboa e Benfica, Rafa Silva e Alejandro Grimaldo marcaram nos cinco minutos da segunda parte, dando à equipa portuguesa uma vitória confortável na jornada inaugural.

O Benfica agora volta sua atenção para a Primeira Liga, onde detém uma vantagem de dois pontos no topo da tabela e continua sendo o único time ainda a perder pontos nesta temporada depois de vencer cada um dos cinco primeiros jogos.

Enquanto o Águias chega ao fim de semana com uma série de 16 vitórias consecutivas em todas as competições, marcando impressionantes 46 gols e mantendo nove partidas sem sofrer gols desde a derrota por 1 a 0 para o rival Porto em 7 de maio.

O Famalicão entrará em campo sem os serviços do meio-campista espanhol Ivan Jaime, que está parado desde janeiro, devido a uma ruptura do ligamento cruzado.

Enquanto isso, o Benfica não estará com força total no ataque neste fim de semana, já que a dupla de Gonçalo Ramos e João Mário está atualmente suspensa depois de ambos terem recebido suas ordens de marcha no final da dramática vitória sobre o Vizela.

Na ausência deles, o atacante português Diogo Gonçalves deve ser jogado na briga, enquanto Julian Draxler, que completou recentemente uma transferência do Paris Saint-Germain, pode ter sua tão esperada estreia.
