Campinas, SP, 04 – O surfista brasileiro João Chianca sofreu um acidente neste domingo, em Pipeline, no Havaí. Chumbinho foi resgatado ainda desacordado e levado a um hospital. De acordo com Lucas Chumbo, irmão do atleta profissional, o surfista do Circuito Mundial está bem.
“Meu irmão está bem graças a Deus. Está estável e consciente. Agradeço todas as energias positivas de todos”, disse Lucas, em seu perfil nas redes sociais. Ele também agradeceu pelo socorro rápido dos salva-vidas e da equipe de resgate.
O videomaker Bruno Lemos conseguiu capturar o momento de resgate de Chumbinho. Lemos relatou que o surfista caiu no drop (momento em que o atleta fica em pé na prancha) e não subiu.
“Ficou um tempão debaixo da água. A praia inteira, vários surfistas pularam para ajudar. Ele estava inconsciente, mas reativaram. Está falando, está bem”, contou o profissional em perfil no Instagram.
A jornalista Shannon Marie Quirk, que também estava no local, reportou o encaminhamento do surfista para o hospital. Nas redes sociais, Lucas Chumbo, irmão de Chianca, comentou que “está tudo bem” com Chumbinho.
O brasileiro de 23 anos foi a sensação da última edição do Circuito Mundial. Ele terminou a temporada na quarta posição do ranking. E será um dos representantes do Brasil na modalidade nos Jogos Olímpicos de Paris-2024.
