Carpini evita confirmar titulares do São Paulo

São Paulo, SP, 15 – O novo técnico do São Paulo, Thiago Carpini, afirmou que pretende montar um plantel, e não um grupo de 11 titulares, para a disputa da temporada 2024. O novo treinador da equipe foi apresentado oficialmente nesta segunda-feira.

“A gente vai definir um plantel onde fique bem definido os comportamentos individuais e coletivos dentro de cada competição”, afirmou o técnico. “Jogo a jogo gente vai definir o que tem de melhor. Então não tem como definir quem é titular. A gente vai intercalando. Vamos valorizar o todo e dentro do todo vamos ter os protagonistas.”

A temporada marca o retorno do São Paulo à Copa Libertadores, principal competição do continente, após anos de ausência. Antes da Libertadores, porém, 2024 também apresenta uma novidade para o time em relação aos anos anteriores: a Supercopa do Brasil.

O jogo, marcado para o dia 6 de fevereiro, coloca frente a frente o campeão da Copa do Brasil (São Paulo) contra o vencedor do Brasileirão (Palmeiras). Carpini, porém, disse que o clássico valendo taça ainda não é prioritário em seu planejamento. “Nossa final da Supercopa é o Santo André, no sábado”, afirmou o técnico, referindo-se ao primeiro jogo do São Paulo no Paulista. “É a minha estreia.”

Carpini definiu o elenco do São Paulo como “forte, bom e qualificado”. Sobre novas contratações, o técnico afirmou que peças pontuais chegar se surgirem oportunidades e citou duas posições: lateral e atacante.

CARREIRA DO TREINADOR

Aos 39 anos e com bons trabalhos em 2023, foi vice-campeão paulista com o Água Santa e levou o Juventude à elite do Brasileiro, Carpini foi questionado sobre a pequena experiência. “Tenho ouvido muito em relação à idade, mas me preparei para este momento. A capacidade não está atrelada à idade. Todo mundo foi jovem um dia”, afirmou o treinador que é apenas um ano mais velho do que o lateral Rafinha.

Ele citou que, no Juventude, trabalhou com o meia Nenê, que tem 42 anos. “Eu o chamava de senhor, por ter 42 anos, mas ele também me chamava de senhor, porque era o técnico. O respeito era mútuo.”

Carpini falou que não abre mão da competitividade. “Gosto do jogo mais impositivo, com posse de bola e construção. A organização permite trabalhar de forma mais organizada a saída de bola para chegar ao ataque com mais velocidade e vantagem numérica.”

“Com um primeiro encaixe alto, a bola chega mais disputada na nossa última linha. É dessa maneira que vejo futebol”, afirmou ele, lembrando que o equilíbrio permitiu que Água Santa e Juventude tomassem poucos gols.

Carpini foi questionado sobre a posição de James Rodrigues, Lucas e Luciano. “O James tem uma função mais específica. Os outros têm mais alternativas, mais leque de opções. Lucas faz mais de uma função, e o Luciano também.”

O técnico classificou o meia colombiano como “o 10 centralizado”. “Vamos adaptar para fluir o que ele tem de melhor”, disse Carpini, citando mais uma vez Nenê. “Tive uma situação parecida no Juventude, com o Nenê. Em diversas situações, ele foi decisivo.”

Com o antecessor de Carpini, James teve menos chances do que ele achava que merecida. Dorival Júnior. Não utilizou o meia nas finais da Copa do Brasil, por exemplo.

Carpini elogiou o Dorival, que saiu do time para assumir a seleção brasileira, e Muricy Ramalho, coordenador do São Paulo. “A gente assume um trabalho excelente. Vamos potencializar o que está dando certo e propor algumas ideias.” Sobre o contato com o coordenador, Carpini foi direto. “Espero que o Muricy seja meu Telê.” Muricy Ramalho foi auxiliar de Telê Santana antes de seguir a carreira de treinador.
