Elias, de 28 anos, chegou em janeiro para disputar o Campeonato Mineiro pelo Itabirito. Apesar de o time não ter conseguido a classificação para o mata-mata, ficando pelo caminho ainda na fase de grupos, o jogador se destacou e chamou a atenção do Coelho.
Até chegar ao time mineiro, o goleiro teve uma boa rodagem. Entre eles, esteve no Sampaio Corrêa, Botafogo-PB, Paysandu, Chapecoense, Vitória e Juventude. Foi campeão da Série B com a Chape em 2020.
