Torcedores do Luton Town, time do Campeonato Inglês, se mobilizaram para pedir à banda Coldplay que altere a letra de Yellow, uma das músicas mais famosas da banda. “Yellow”, em português, significa “amarelo”, que é a cor do principal rival do time, o Watford.
A ideia é que Coldplay substitua a palavra “yellow” por “orange” (laranja, em inglês) – que é a cor que representa o Luton Town -, durante a apresentação do grupo no evento Big Weekend, promovido pela BBC Radio e que tem a cidade de Luton como sede.
O pedido foi endossado pelo técnico do time, Rob Edwards, que disse à BBC que “seria ótimo” que a letra fosse alterada na exibição. Outra personalidade a aderir à campanha é o prefeito de Luton, Mohammed Yaqub. Segundo a emissora britânica, o político destacou que “o futuro é laranja” e “a cor amarela é sinal de covardia”.
A música Yellow foi lançada pelo Coldplay no ano 2000 e segue como uma das principais canções da banda. O grupo deve se apresentar no festival dia 26 de maio, e ainda não informou se vai acatar o apelo para trocar a letra no show.
Se isso acontecer, será um combustível para o Luton Town buscar a recuperação no Campeonato Inglês. A equipe, que disputa a Premiere League pela primeira vez em sua história, ocupa atualmente a 17ª colocação na tabela da competição e corre risco de rebaixamento.
