São Paulo, SP , 03 (AFI) – O início de ano do Corinthians não é dos melhores. Além de ter que conviver com a eliminação precoce na primeira fase do Campeonato Paulista, o clube vem lutando para solucionar os problemas fora das quatro linhas. Em entrevista coletiva, após a vitória sobre o Santo André por 3 a 2, o presidente Augusto Melo admitiu a saída do meia Matías Rojas e explicou que busca alternativas para quitar a dívida milionária que tem com o atleta.
“A questão estava resolvida. É que, realmente, ele não estava mais contente. Ele não quer ficar mais, me explicou que queria ficar com a família. É assunto encerrado. O mais pesado da dívida é sobre direitos de imagem, porque nunca foi pago. Acumulou muito. O salário dele está em dia. É uma situação complicada. É de R$ 8 milhões para mais. Falei com ele, falei com o empresário, eu mesmo tomei a frente e vamos resolver”, afirmou o mandatário.
Rojas tem vínculo com o Corinthians até 2027 e notificou o clube pedindo a rescisão de contrato por causa da dívida. O atleta fez 30 jogos pelo clube e não marcou gols. Ele havia sido contratado no ano passado como a grande solução para o meio de campo, mas não deu os resultados esperados. O mandatário prometeu resolver a situação e não teme uma possível punição da Fifa.
“Não, porque nós vamos pagar. É obrigação nossa pagar. Só vai para a Fifa se a gente não pagar. Mas está super bem conversado. Conversei com o empresário, foi muito receptivo. Conversei com o advogado, também. Ele está em viagem para fora, e segunda-feira, assim que tiver mais tranquilo, vamos passar a proposta, tudo certinho. É obrigação nossa pagar”, completou.
Augusto Melo admitiu ainda que o Corinthians passa por uma situação financeira delicada e afirmou que o jogador está nos direitos dele em cobrar. O presidente revelou também que tem uma cláusula no contrato do jogador, na qual ele pode acionar para deixar o clube no momento que quiser.
“No contrato dele uma das cláusulas fala que ele pode ir embora a hora que quiser. Não vou jogar a culpa para ninguém, mas a culpa é de quem fez isso. Eu estou aqui para resolver. Talvez o Corinthians do ano passado tenha errado. O de agora está consertando. Ele tem o direito dele, nós temos o nosso. Não é bom atrasar, mas as vezes acontece, ainda mais no futebol. Temos uma dificuldade enorme em termos de receita, mas estamos trabalhando e vamos solucionar isso”, finalizou.
Na última quinta-feira, o Corinthians emitiu uma nota oficial afirmando que o atleta não havia comparecido ao treino e disse não entender os motivos para o jogador tomar tal atitude.
Eliminado no Paulistão, o Corinthians cumpre tabela e se despede do torneio no domingo, às 16h, frente ao Água Santa, em Diadema. O clube foca na Copa do Brasil e começa a se planejar no Brasileirão. Segundo o presidente, o clube não está atrás de reforços e vai tentar trabalhar com o que já tem em mãos.
